TWO men sustained gunshot-related injuries on Saturday (June 13) after shots were fired between two vehicles in the 18600-block of Highway 10 in Cloverdale shortly after 10 p.m.

Surrey RCMP patrol officers were immediately dispatched to the area after receiving several reports of shots having been fired. Officer found evidence that a shooting had occurred.

Additionally, two residences were identified as being struck by bullets. No one was hurt in the homes.

Officers could not locate anyone at the scene in relation to the shots fired. Surrey RCMP were advised by a regional hospital that two males arrived at there with gunshot related injuries. Both males had non-life-threatening injuries. They remained in a regional trauma hospital where they were treated for their injuries. The hospital was placed on lock down as a safety precaution.

Reports received by police state that the shots were fired between two vehicles, a white or light coloured SUV and a silver Pontiac Vibe.  The SUV has been located by police and is currently in their custody.  At this time this shooting does not appear to be a random act, but rather targeted at these two young men. Police are not able to say whether this shooting is linked to the other shootings that have been identified as part of a low-level drug trade turf war.
