Woman Shot In Front Of Her 10-year-old Son In Surrey

SURREY- On December 21 (Friday) 2012 at approximately 12:20am Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 12700 block of 63rd Avenue.

As a result of that incident, a woman is in hospital after being shot twice during a suspected domestic dispute.  The man involved was eventually caught by police when he turned the gun on himself.

Officers on scene located a 35 year old female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to her hand and shoulder. Emergency Health Services immediately transported the female to local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female’s 10 year old son, who was with her at the time, was uninjured.

The initial investigation has revealed that the female was shot outside her residence by an unknown suspect who fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction.

About twenty minutes later an RCMP officer stopped a van on King George near 24 Avenue and while the officer was checking his documents the man shot himself in the head with his gun and is in hospital in critical condition.
