Rash of theft from vehicles in South Delta

DELTA Police responded to a number of thefts from vehicles in the Beach Grove area in South Delta last weekend. Most incidents occurred on Saturday night and Sunday morning. In most cases the vehicles were left unlocked. Items stolen from the vehicles included GPS, laptop computer, clothing and loose change.

In one incident, at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Sunday on Farrell Crescent, a citizen witnessed a male breaking into the neighbor’s vehicle and confronted the suspect. The suspect fled in a larger grey / black diesel truck. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on 56th Street toward Highway 17A. The complainant also indicated that an older model grey / black Ford Bronco may have been associated to the suspect that fled in the diesel truck.

The male suspects are described as being white and in their 20s or 30s with scruffy beards and goatees.

Police continue to investigate these incidents and encourage citizens to report any and all suspicious persons and activities in their neighbourhoods.

Police discourage citizens from approaching suspects, and advise them instead to be good witnesses and gather as much detail as possible.

“Although we appreciate the efforts of this citizen, your personal safety is something we don’t want you to compromise,” said Delta Police.
