Vancouver Police investigating city’s eighth homicide of 2018

AN early morning assault in Vancouver on Thursday turned deadly and Vancouver Police homicide investigators are investigating the city’s eighth homicide of 2018.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on April 26, a 38-year-old Vancouver man was found with serious injuries outside the Parq casino at 39 Smithe Street. The man was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery but did not survive.

Evidence has led investigators to Coopers Park, near Marinaside Crescent and Cooperage Way, where it is believed that the victim was assaulted before he walked to the casino for help.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is still in its early stages. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information about this homicide to call Vancouver Police at (604) 717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
