The 2012 Vancouver Christmas Market opens its doors tomorrow, Saturday, November 24th at 11am. Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza in downtown Vancouver once again transforms into an enchanting, festive sanctuary where you can experience a world of European Christmas tradition.
Running from November 24th to December 24th, the Vancouver Christmas Market has been named one of 10 Spectacular Holiday Markets Around the World by Frommer’s. Now in its third year, the Market has become known as one of Vancouver’s most delightful Christmas season attractions, now with more than 50 traditional wooden booths, including 16 new ones, containing authentic German products and strung with thousands of twinkling white lights.
This year, visitors to the Market will receive free re-entry all season with the purchase of one regular or discount admission, so you can enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the Market all season long. Enjoy the authentic aromas of Gluhwein (mulled wine) and pine trees perfuming the air. Savour specialty foods and shop from a variety of merchants for everyone on your list. Be whisked away to another world by traditional European cultural entertainment, Christmas choirs, all styles of music, and the new X-Mas Factor Christmas singing competition, sponsored by Studio Cloud 30 Entertainment. The competition, in which contestants give their interpretation of classic Christmas tunes, will begin tomorrow and continue every Friday at 6:00pm for the duration of the Market.
