Thursday’s homicide victim identified as 17-year-old Jaylen Sandhu

 

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, which was called in on Friday to lead a homicide investigation which occurred on Thursday (December 18) in the 16300 block of 88 Avenue in Surrey, has identified the victim as 17-year-old Jaylen Sandhu.

On Thursday, just after 2 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault in progress at this location. Police said: “A male victim was located with multiple stab wounds and taken to local area hospital. Reports of shots being heard have not been confirmed at this point. Officers are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for further information.”

IHIT Staff-Sgt. Jennifer Pound said on Friday: “The victim was able to run away from the scene and sought assistance from a nearby residence.  He was then transported to the hospital but he succumbed to the injuries he sustained a short time later.  The suspect fled the scene and there have been no arrests affected in connection to this homicide.”
