Three arrested in targeted shooting in Surrey; two charged

SURREY RCMP arrested three people in connection with a shooting which took place last Saturday in the Guildford area.

At approximately 1:17 a.m. on May 5, Surrey RCMP officers on duty heard the sound of gunfire, east of the Surrey RCMP’s Guildford District Office. The officers patrolled the area and located an injured man in the 10300-block of 149A Street.  The injured man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
A suspect vehicle was observed leaving the area and was located in the 9500-block of 120th Street with the assistance of the BC RCMP’s Air 1 Helicopter. Three individuals associated to the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody. Two people were charged in relation to the shooting, while the third was released without charges.

On Monday (May 7), officers executed search warrants in the 9500-block of 120th Street as part of the ongoing investigation.  Investigators believe that this was a targeted attack.

The Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) is continuing to investigate. Police said further details would not be released at this time.
