The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 models: Greater individualization   of the C-Class

Powerful V8 engines, thrilling driving dynamics and distinctive, motorsport-inspired equipment have turned the top-of-the-range Mercedes-AMG C-Class models into best-sellers. Already the perfect embodiment of the AMG brand, the C 63 now offers even better dynamics as well as a more modern and customizable interior in its Sedan, Coupe and Cabriolet models. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with wet start-off clutch makes for an even more agile gearshift response, while the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine – available in two output variants rated at 469 hp or 503 hp – delivers performance on a par with that of a sports car: the C 63 S Sedan and Coupe reach a top speed of 290 km/h.

The new C 63’s exterior underscores its affiliation with the performance brand in part through AMG-specific radiator trim that features vertical louvres in high-gloss chrome. A redesigned transverse fin in the outer air inlets and the front apron’s A-wing design emphasize the vehicle’s width. When viewed from the side, eye-catching features include sporty side skirts and AMG light-alloy wheels. The developers aimed for an optimal combination of aerodynamics, weight and brake cooling, for maximum performance and peak efficiency.

The interior of the new C 63 reinforces its dynamic qualities. New options for all four body styles include anthracite open-pore oak wood trim, as well as the combination of longitudinal-grain aluminum for the doors and black open-pore ash wood for the centre console. AMG trim in carbon fibre and AMG trim in matte silver fibreglass are also available.

The upholstery options are Nappa Leather in black, black with grey accents, red pepper/black, platinum white pearl/black, and the newly-introduced magma grey/black with yellow contrasting topstitching. Options for the Sedan include a combination from the design range: diamond quilting in saddle brown/black and platinum white pearl/black.

The operating system of the C 63 is just as versatile as it is flexible, whether accessing it via touchpad and Controller, Touch Control buttons on the steering wheel, or voice entry. All options are aimed at enabling the control tasks to be carried out as quickly and conveniently as possible. Just as flexible is the display of the optional fully digital instrument cluster in front of the driver. A 31.2-centimetre (12.3-inch) screen diagonal brings the vehicle functions to life with three AMG-specific display styles: “Classic”, “Sporty” or “Supersport”.  The new AMG C 63 will be available at Mercedes-Benz dealers across Canada.
