Three teens were arrested in downtown Vancouver Wednesday evening after a fight broke out in the fireworks crowd.
According to Vancouver police, the second night of the Celebration of Light festival saw a “generally positive and well-behaved” crowd of about 250,000 to 300,000 people descend into the West End and the surrounding beaches to watch the annual fireworks show.

As crowds were leaving the West End, a fight broke out near Cardero and Georgia Streets. Police said the three men, all of whom were from Surrey, had been involved in a fight.

Police arrested all three men and in the process, seized a canister of bear spray, a knife, and a fake handgun. The trio were then taken to jail and charges have been requested.

Throughout the evening, police executed 278 liquor pourouts, 86 liquor seizures, and one weapon seizure.
VPD also issued 84 violation tickets and seven by-law tickets.

There were two arrests for breach of peace, but no arrests for public intoxication.
