Surrey RCMP seek public’s help with investigation into stabbing at banquet hall

SURREY RCMP are requesting assistance from the public with an ongoing investigation into a stabbing at a local banquet hall on February 15.

This past Friday, at approximately 10 p.m., the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at Bollywood Banquet Hall located in the 8100-block of 128th Street. Investigators located a 20-year-old male with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

At the time of the occurrence, the banquet hall was hosting a large South Asian event with hundreds of people in attendance. Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or has video of the assault to come forward and speak with the investigators.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit now has conduct of the investigation.
