Surrey RCMP continue investigation of sexual assaults at Iris Day Spas

SURREY RCMP announced on Monday that new allegations of sexual assault at a beauty spa in Surrey have been reported as a result of an initial appeal for potential victims.

Since the appeal, seven additional victims have come forward to report sexual assaults at Iris Day Spas locations. Three incidents are alleged to have occurred at the Guildford location (10160 152nd Street), three at the South Surrey location (1620 152nd Street), and one at a location in Newton (7380 King George Boulevard), which is no longer in operation. These new allegations took place between 2014 and 2018 and are currently being investigated by the Surrey RCMP and the Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit.

Las month, Surrey RCMP said the victims in these incidents were customers at the spa and were allegedly sexually assaulted by an employee while receiving massages.

During the course of this investigation, a suspect,  Rongxian Li, 58, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault in relation to two incidents that occurred in December 2017.

The investigation into the 2016 incident and two incidents in 2018 is still ongoing. While officers have identified a suspect in the 2016 incident, only one of the two suspects in the 2018 incidents has been identified. None of the suspects are currently employed at this business.

Investigators believe there still may be other victims who have not yet come forward.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
