Surrey and Port Moody are the fastest growing cities in Metro Vancouver according to the latest Census data revealed by Statistics Canada.
B.C. population increased from 4,113,487 to 4,400,057 recording a seven percent high from 2006.
With in this Surrey has grown by 18.6 per cent in the last five years with a population jump from 394,976 in 2006 to 468,251 in 2011. This has added 73,275 new people to its resident tally.
Surrey, B.C.’s second largest city attracts an estimated 1,000 new people every month.
Sailesh Raj, 33 and his wife Kamini, 30 have just bought a two bedroom apartment in one of the newer housing developments in Whalley and said they were attracted by the growth and potential of the area.
