NDP nominations are officially open in B.C. and the newly founded Surrey Centre Electoral District Association says it is ready to nominate its candidate for the 2015 federal election.
The nomination meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Taj Banquet Hall, #6 – 8388 128th Street, Surrey. Registration will be at 6:30 p.m., the call to order at 7 p.m.
Nathan Cullen, NDP Finance Critic and MP for Skeena-Bulkley Valley, will be the guest speaker.
Jasbir Sandhu, MP for Surrey North, who was elected in 2011, is seeking the nomination uncontested. Sandhu currently serves as the Official Opposition critic for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, as well as on the Citizenship and Immigration Committee.
To be eligible to vote in this nomination, you must be a member in good standing with the NDP. You must have also joined the NDP on or before May 31, the 30th day prior to the nomination meeting date, and live in the district to be eligible to vote in this nomination.
