Surrey RCMP investigating a third shooting in the city in 24 hours

SURREY RCMP announced on Sunday evening that they were currently investigating a shooting in the 14700-block of 30th Avenue in South Surrey that took place just after 6 a.m. on Saturday (September 23), but was reported to them approximately 12 hours later at 5:45 p.m. that day. No victims were located.

Earlier on Sunday, police had reported that another shooting had occurred at the same place at approximately 5:21 a.m. on Sunday. Police didn’t find any victims.

A third shooting took place in Surrey at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Sunday in the 8400-block of 121A Street in Newton. Bullets struck a house, narrowly missing a family sleeping inside, according to news reports.

Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigations are still in the early stages.
