SURREY’S Eric Basran (National Team) won gold in his 56 kg category (Bantam) at the 2019 Super Channel Championships – the biggest Olympic boxing competition in Canada – hosted by Boxing BC at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort Community in the City of Langford from April 23-27. One year prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the 2019 edition featured the best boxers from coast to coast.

Eric won both bouts unanimously and bagged gold. He is currently a two-time gold medalist and a two-time silver medalist at the Canadian Nationals.

Eric is now training hard and will be competing in the coming weeks at a tournament in Czech Republic.

From September 7-21 he will be competing at the Men’s World Championships in Yekateringburg, Russia, which is also a qualifier for the 2020 Olympics.

Last year Eric bagged a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
