SUMINDER Grewal of Hells Angels was shot dead in South Surrey on Friday morning, The VOICE has confirmed from its sources.
Grewal had joined the Hardside chapter in Surrey a few years ago.
Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum, who had just taken over as the new mayor at the time, had expressed his concern about it, saying that Hells Angels were not welcome in Surrey.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. on August 2, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the drive-thru of a financial institution in the 3000-block of 152nd Street. Officers located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency Health Services attended. Despite all attempts to revive the individual, the male succumbed to his injuries.
Two men were taken into custody. Sources say the vehicle in which they were fleeing got a flat tire and members of the public informed the police about it. The men tried to escape on foot but were apprehended by police.
According to one news report, Grewal was inside a Dodge Viper at the drive-thru at Southpoint Exchange Mall when two masked men fired some seven bullets into the vehicle. They blew out a passenger-side window.
Global BC reported that a man told them that victim’s car was second in line for the Starbucks drive-thru, that is shared with a financial institution.
He said: “When I looked in, the victim … was slumped over and I could see a wound from his belly.”
He said that he was on the phone to 911 and “they said go ahead and put pressure on the wounds, which I did, and while I was doing that he jerked twice, and I was pretty confident he passed then.”
Surrey RCMP said although the investigation is in its early stages, initial indications are that this was a targeted incident. Surrey RCMP will be engaging with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) as the investigation progresses.
Incidentally, Surrey RCMP point out that ‘shots fired’ incidents are actually 21 per cent lower this year as compared to the same time last year.

It’s the number of cops we have in Surrey isn’t enough, not the rcmp. Yes there is a problem amongst south Asian youth being involved in drug crime disproportionately to their fellow youth. Is it a cultural thing, I think it needs to be considered? I also think the whole lower mainland is infested with issues with drugs on every level, from importer to Addict
So would you say child pornography is a cultural thing with white guys just because almost everyone caught in that filthy practice happens to be a white man all over Canada and the U.S.?
And I guess Hells Angels are all South Asians!
To bosco… what about the two caucasian males who went around shooting innocent people for no god dam reason….had it been indo canadian or any other race the news would make a fuss about, the cops would have did everything to find them no matter what it takes and they would be knocking on doors. Robert picton killed so many people, the first gangsters and drug dealers are caucasians, before any Indians or asians had the balls or idea to get into the trade. So what happened here could they have been influenced by the power the caucasian canadians have so that the asians and Indians could feel like they belong or they’re not lesser….. before pointing any fingers let’s go back to where this disease first started who were the first gangsters in bc and through the canadian province.
