Spring Break is free at George Mackie Library

We are thrilled to have professional entertainers Team T & J come out from Toronto to offer an interactive music show for kids and families on Monday, March 26 from 11 am – 11:45 am at the George Mackie Library.  Team T&J is being considered for a Juno nomination for Best Children’s Album of the Year.  Their show creates an environment where kids can explore and express their imaginations through the excitement and freedom of live music interaction!  You can learn more about Team T&J and the show by visiting their website.  Tickets will be required at the George Mackie Library event.  Tickets are free and will be available for pick up at the library beginning March 19.

If you are in grades 5 – 7 and a budding cartoonist, come to Dave Steven’s Cartooning Workshop on Wednesday, March 21, 2 pm – 3 pm at the George Mackie Library!  Dave will introduce you to cartooning.  Using his own two recently published books, he will explain his style of “simplify and exaggerate”, and his approach to cartooning.  Bring your own pens or pencil crayons.  Registration is required.

Teens!  If you are between the ages of 12 and 19 years old and enjoy board games, come to the popular Teen Night:  Pizza & Games on Tuesday, March 27, 5 pm – 7 pm.  There’s free pizza!  Games and snacks provided by Imperial Hobbies.

Are you a fan of CSI, Bones, or other shows featuring forensic science?  Are you interested in Forensic Science as a career?  Come get the lowdown on forensic crime solving with Delta Police Constable Abhay Chawla of the Forensic Identification Services Section at Forensic Science for Teens on Wednesday, March 28 from 2 pm – 3 pm.  Hear about techniques, cases, and more!  Take a peek at the Forensic vehicle.  The presentation will include slides and a Q&A.  Some material discussed may be complex and graphic.  Suitable for ages 12 and older.
