A 24-year-old male from Surrey broke into a North Vancouver apartment in the 100 block of West 2^nd Street on Tuesday evening and proceeded to help himself to food and personal items of the owner, even wearing one of his T-shirts.

The alleged suspect gathered up other property into his backpack, but then decided to lie down on the couch and have a nap.

At about 10 p.m., the homeowner returned to find a stranger asleep on his couch and called police who arrested the man without incident for break and enter.

RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong said: “He certainly was surprised to see the police!”

As they say, if you snooze, you lose!
