Mississauga – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau continue to investigate an early morning incident at a residence in Mississauga, which resulted in the shooting death of a young male.

On Friday December 7th, 2012 at approximately 12:25 a.m., police responded to a 911 report from a Corkstone Glade homeowner that 3 males, 2 of which were armed, had broken into their home. Upon arrival, police located a male, deceased as a result of a gunshot wound, and evidence that an altercation had occurred.

The deceased male was not a resident of the home and is alleged to have broken in with the two other males. They were confronted by the homeowner and a struggle ensued resulting in the death of the young male. At this time investigators have no information connecting the deceased to the homeowner who suffered minor injuries.

Police are currently searching for the other two males who fled on foot in an unknown direction. They are described as two black males, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun.
The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim ABUKAR, a 22 year-old resident of Toronto.

This investigation is on-going however there are no charges pending at this time as investigators continue to look for the outstanding break-in suspects.
