Richmond RCMP investigating serious assault on transit bus

SHORTLY before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, Richmond RCMP officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding an incident on board a Coast Mountain Bus near No. 3 Road and Cambie Road.

It is alleged that a physical altercation occurred between two passengers.

One passenger, a 42 year-old man from Richmond, was transported to hospital by emergency medical personnel suffering from critical stab wounds. Another passenger, a 21-year-old man from Richmond has been arrested and remains in police custody. Police do not believe there are any other suspects.

The Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation.
