Registered owner of vehicle involved in Tuesday night’s hit-and-run meets police

THE registered owner of the vehicle involved in Tuesday night’s hit-and-run has come in to meet with Abbotsford Police Major Crime detectives, police announced on Wednesday night.

This investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided when available, police said.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., Abbotsford Emergency Services responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 32600-block of Marshall Road.  A newer model SUV-type vehicle struck a 77-year-old South Asian male who was walking on the roadway. 

The pedestrian, who was transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Service, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Wednesday morning. 

Police asked the driver of the vehicle to do the right thing and come forward to speak with investigators. 

The Abbotsford Police Detectives continue to encourage witnesses, and those with possible CCTV footage and dashcam footage to come forward to help provide further evidence in this investigation.
