(FEB 24) Hindu nationalist RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s DISGRACEFUL comment that Mother Teresa’s service to the poor was aimed at converting them to Christianity shows his insecurity and petty-mindedness. I met Mother Teresa on a few occasions as a reporter with The Times of India in New Delhi in the 1980s and visited one of the places where she and her Missionaries of Charity were looking after lepers. I am no fan of the Catholic Church, but her service to humanity cannot be questioned. Why doesn’t Bhagwat try doing what she did – or just shut the f— up and not make an ass of himself around the world!
