New Delhi (IANS): Home Minister Rajnath Singh Tuesday reviewed the country’s security situation at a high-level meeting here ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit to India for the Republic Day celebrations.

The meeting also comes after the recent violence in Assam perpetrated by Bodo militants and a blast in Bengaluru.

“It was a high-level inter-ministerial meeting. The main purpose was to review the security establishment in the country,” a home ministry official told IANS.

The official refused to reveal the points discussed in the meeting, but confirmed that the government did not want to leave any error in security during Obama’s visit.

“We discussed the country’s security situation,” army chief Gen. Dalbir Singh told reporters after the meeting, but refused to give details.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and chiefs of intelligence agencies were also present in the meeting.
