Rajan Sawhney

RAJAN Sawhney won  the nomination as the United Conservative Party’s candidate in Calgary-North East for the 2019 provincial election.

UCP Leader Jason Kenney said: “Today more than 1,000 United Conservative members in Calgary-North East voted to choose their candidate for the next election from amongst two great contestants.”

He added: “Rajan was born and raised in Northeast Calgary and is now raising her four children here. Rajan has an MBA and spent time as an executive in the energy sector before starting her own oil and gas company together with her husband.

“She knows first-hand the devastating impact that NDP policies have had on both our oil and gas workers and job-creators, and this experience will be an asset as we work to reignite the Alberta economy and get our province back on track. I am pleased to welcome Rajan to the United Conservative team.

“I would also like to thank Mandeep Shergill and his team for their participation in the democratic process and dedication to our movement.”
