Premier John Horgan greets Muslim community on Eid al-Adha

John Horgan

PREMIER John Horgan made the following statement on behalf of the New Democrat Government Caucus on the occasion of Eid al-Adha:

“On behalf of the New Democrat caucus, we extend our whole-hearted and warmest greetings to the Muslim community on the annual celebration of Eid al-Adha. All British Columbians who practice the Islamic faith look forward to this holy occasion, and we wish all who celebrate a joyous and reflective Eid Mubarak.

“The Muslim community works beside others offering assistance to people in need, now and throughout the year. That help is given to people of all communities and faiths and is deeply appreciated. Your service helps build stronger, more compassionate communities.

“The lessons of sacrifice and generosity Eid al-Adha embody are reflected in the many great contributions made to our province by the Muslim community. This is a wonderful time to acknowledge Eid al-Adha and also to remember the important contributions Canadian Muslims have made to society.

“As Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha in a renewal of faith, we join with you in wishing for a most wonderful and bright future.

“Eid Mubarak.”
