Peel Regional Police lay additional charges in sexual assault investigation

INVESTIGATORS from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have laid three additional charges in a sexual assault investigation.

On Thursday, April 19, Gary Edwards, a 44 year-old-male from Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault. Following the original news release, three more victims have come forward.

On May 2, a 19-year-old female victim attended a tanning salon called Tanned Bodies located at 732 Lakeshore Road East in the City of Mississauga. During the victim’s tanning session the accused sexually assaulted her.

On another occasion an 18-year-old female victim attended the accused’s residence for a tanning session. During the victim’s tanning session the accused sexually assaulted her.

Between December and March of 2017 an 18-year-old female victim was employed at Tanned Bodies located at 592 Rathburn Road West in the City of Mississauga. During the victim’s employment, the accused sexually assaulted her.

On May 1, Gary Edwards was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Edwards is the co-owner and operator of three Tanned Bodies salons located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Investigators from the Special Victims Unit believe that there may be more victims and / or witnesses and are asking anyone who had contact with Edwards to contact the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit.
