A few months ago I suddenly decided to start updating our website with news every day as soon as possible instead of just getting stories uploaded at then end of the week. And that gave our website a tremendous boost, so much so that we had to switch to another server last month to handle the traffic.

Sure, that means that I don’t get a break even when I get back home in the evenings or on the weekends – as I am doing all this by myself – but the thrill of it all and the deep satisfaction of serving our readers, makes it all worthwhile. Of course, sometimes you may have to wait for a story or analysis – because I am human after all!

So thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your loyalty in trusting what we post online and forwarding our links.

However, our local readers also look forward to the printed paper each Saturday as that has its own value – and charm.

In the New Year, we will try our best to make the website and the paper even more exciting. Please do not hesitate to send us your stories and photos – we love to highlight your achievements, especially of kids, because as it is there are too many negative stories circulating around and, of course, unfortunately we cannot turn a blind eye to them either.

You can also email me any story ideas or tips in absolute confidence. There is no way that I am going to reveal my sources.

For this holiday issue – that we wrapped up on Wednesday morning – I decided to highlight stories that received the most hits on our website in 2014.

If you really want to experience the full range of the stories we carried in our paper this year, just go to www.voiceonline.com and check it out for yourself.

Happy surfing!
