OUR Global Village (OGV) organization, in association with the City of Surrey, RCMP, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit-BC, Surrey Crime Prevention Society and many sports clubs hosted “Youth Speaks Out against Drugs, Gangs and Violence Forum” on Tuesday, June 16 at Surrey’s Dhaliwal Banquet Hall.

The forum aimed to facilitate dialogue amongst youth by keeping a focus on preventative solutions while addressing the city’s most pressing issues of the recent gang violence.

The community-partnerships developed through the forum is expected to provide the youth with an opportunity to work directly with different community groups and to initiative positive change by becoming involved in the many programs / services that are currently being offered by the City of Surrey, RCMP, Surrey Crime Prevention Society, YMCA and other organizations that work to meet needs of the youth.
