Opposition Sikh groups unite to contest Vancouver’s Khalsa Diwan Society election

Vancouver’s Khalsa Diwan Society electionOPPOSITION Sikh groups held a meeting in Vancouver to announce the formation of a working committee for a united slate in the upcoming election at Ross Street Gurdwara of Vancouver’s Khalsa Diwan Society.

In the last election, the opposition groups split into two groups and lost to the so-called moderate slate.

Some 170 people attended the meeting where it was announced that the working committee would formulate all programs that would be announced from time to time.

The organizers urged society members from Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, Burnaby, Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam to start making new members.
