ONTARIO: Shots fired at Mississauga business event where there were about 100 people

PEEL Regional Police officers from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau are investigating a shooting incident on July 1 in Mississauga and are seeking witnesses to come forward.

Last Sunday, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to reports of shots fired at a business located in the area of Kennedy Road and Derry Road in Mississauga. Several rounds were fired by unknown suspects, who are then believed to have fled in a vehicle.

There were no reported injuries.

There were approximately 100 people at the event and police are seeking their assistance to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation including dash cam videos. Additionally, police are requesting area businesses to contact police if they have surveillance footage that could assist in this investigation.

Police would not tell The VOICE if it was a South Asian business event.
