Nurse who fell for Royal prank call found dead

One of the nurses at the private hospital which treated the Duchess of Cambridge earlier this week has died in a suspected suicide. This comes just days after she was duped by two Australian DJs pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles.

The woman’s unconscious body was found near the King Edward VII hospital in London this morning. Paramedics were called, but Jacintha Saldanha was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact cause of death remains unclear.

The nurse took the phony call on Tuesday and transferred the DJs to another nurses, who was treating Kate Middleton.

The following day, the Australian radio station and its hosts replayed the entire hoax and posted it online; it has since gone viral.

People have taken to Twitter, expressing their shock and sadness over the nurse’s death.
