NDP’s Garry Begg will take on incumbent Conservative MP Nina Grewal in Fleetwood-Port Kells

Garry BeggFORMER senior RCMP inspector Garry Begg will take on incumbent Conservative MP Nina Grewal in Fleetwood-Port Kells federal riding after winning the NDP nomination on Saturday.

“I am so happy to have Garry Begg on the NDP team,” said NDP Leader Tom Mulcair. “He will be a great representative for Fleetwood-Port Kells and his experience with policing and his deep commitment to community safety will make him an excellent Member of Parliament.”

“I am proud to be part of Tom Mulcair’s team, and I am looking forward to being part of the change that Canadians are looking for,” Begg said after winning the nomination.

Begg was an RCMP officer for more than 38 years before he made the switch to politics.

“I have seen the impact of Conservative neglect on our community, and I want to be part of building positive solutions,” Begg said. “I will work for safer neighbourhoods, better transit, and more affordable housing.”
