Motorcyclist killed in Vancouver collision

THE Vancouver Police Department is investigating a collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Wednesday on Vancouver’s West Side.

At around 6:15 a.m., police were called to West Broadway near Yew Street for a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV. The 54-year-old Burnaby man, driving the motorcycle, died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 64-year-old Vancouver man, remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the police investigation.

This is Vancouver’s seventh traffic-related fatality in 2018.

Officers from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving in the area between 6 and 6:15 a.m. and has dash-cam footage. Anyone with information is asked to call 604-717-3012.
