DELTA Police say they were called to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle on Sunday morning. A motorcycle driver was exiting Deltaport onto the 2700-block of Deltaport Way shortly after 9 a.m. when he came into contact with an exit gate. No other vehicles were involved.
The driver, a 37-year-old Delta man, was taken immediately to hospital, but was declared dead shortly thereafter. His family has been notified of his death.
“Due to the serious nature of the crash, the Delta Police collision reconstructionist was called to the scene to identify, document and measure the physical evidence,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. Police were on scene till nearly 4 p.m. One lane on Deltaport Way was closed during that time.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
