VANCOUVER Police are investigating a targeted shooting that occurred Wednesday night in East Vancouver.

Just before 8 p.m., several 9-1-1 callers reported hearing shots fired in the area of Cambridge Street and Nanaimo Street. Officers located one man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital and died a short time later.

It is still very early in the investigation, but based on the information collected so far, investigators do not believe there is a risk to the general public.

This is Vancouver’s 12th homicide of 2018.
