Langley Canada Day: Ready for celebrations

Langley Canada DayALL is set and ready to go for the Langley’s International Festival and the Langley Canada Day that will take place on June 30 from 3 to 11 p.m., and July 1 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Willoughby Community Park just outside the Langley Events Centre, located at 7888 – 200th Street. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy multicultural entertainment through colorful ethnic performances, visual arts, visiting an international marketplace, taste different cultural foods, and many more activities.

Over four days of celebrations, the first two days, June 28 and 29, will be the sports fest where around 600 players will be participating in five different sport tournaments at the Willowby Community Park. The sports fest will consist of recreational soccer, beach volleyball, bocce and masters lacrosse. There will be a beverage garden as well as food vendors and kids’ activities on both days.

June 30 and July 1 will be full of entertainments as hundreds of dancers and musicians from different cultures have been confirmed to perform on the Main stage. There will be a number of fun-filled performances and other activities in the Children Chalet including Kids Have Talent contest, dances, singings, and music, face painting, balloons, and the Fraser Valley Regional Library’s booth for the multicultural crafts, surprising gifts, giveaways, draws, etc.

At the Food Pavilion, you will find 15 food vendors having different cultural foods, over 60 vendors from around the world selling items like handmade jewellery, clothing, and gifts, and many other activities such as international pavilions, a dog show, Parade of Nations, and so on. Fireworks will be held on July 1 at 10 p.m.

Parking and how to get there: There will be no entry fee and the parking will be free. People can park in the Langley Events Centre parking lots, entering from 80th Avenue or from 200th Street going towards North or from 202A, and the extra parking will be available at the Mountain View Church, CLAC, Focus the Family, and at the Mitchell Group. Also another easy way to get to the celebrations on July 1 is by the shuttle buses that will be picking up and dropping off throughout the day at the following locations (park your car at the Christian Life Assembly Church or Kwantlen Langley campus, or at the Costco):
