Laddy Sidhu among 26 newest members of Vancouver Police Department

LADDY Sidhu was the only South Asian recruit among the 26 who were sworn in on Wednesday at Vancouver Police headquarters.

Sidhu was born in India, where she spent the first 10 years of her life before immigrating to Canada. She has an accounting diploma and a bachelor’s degree in business administration / human resource management from Kwantlen University.

In July 2013, Sidhu was hired as a Vancouver Police Community Safety Officer and Jail Guard.  She has volunteered with the Surrey Woman’s Centre, the Surrey Crime Prevention Society, Red Cross, and as a role-player with the VPD Tactical Training Centre. Laddy is fluent in Punjabi.
