Khan Micheal Bourne of Sechelt identified as homicide victim who was shot in Surrey

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the shooting death in Surrey of 32-year-old Khan Micheal Bourne of Sechelt on Tuesday. Bourne was known to police.

On April 23, at about 3:18 p.m., the Surrey RCMP received a call of a man with gunshot wounds lying on the street in the 13300-block of 114th Avenue.  The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.  IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation.

IHIT is working closely with its partners from the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

A vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shooting and investigators are now canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and video surveillance footage.  Anyone with dash cam video and / or cell phone video who was in the area of the shooting on Tuesday afternoon is asked to contact IHIT immediately.

“It is still early in the investigation but we believe Mr. Bourne was targeted for murder,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
