Jan. 18 homicide victim in Vancouver was Mathieu Flynn of Richmond

VANCOUVER Police on Thursday said that 31-year-old Mathieu Flynn of Richmond was the victim in the city’s second homicide of the year.

Flynn was found by a passerby in the parking lot of Marine Gateway Cineplex near Southwest Marine Drive and Cambie Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.

“This incident happened in a very public, busy area,” said Constable Tania Visintin. “We believe several people may have video from their vehicle or information that could help detectives solve this homicide.”

No arrests have been made. VPD investigators do not believe there is a risk to the public.

Police are asking anyone with dash cam footage or those who have vehicles equipped with factory video surveillance (specifically from a Tesla) who were inside the parking garage at 452 Southwest Marine Drive between 6 and 8:30 pm on Saturday to contact homicide detectives at 604-717-2500.
