International Student Festival celebrates diversity and achievements of Ontario’s international student community September 27

SEPTEMBER is off to a busy start for everyone as students are getting back into a school-focused mindset. For some students, this is their first term in a Canadian college or university, which can be an intimidating experience. The International Students Festival, produced by the City of Toronto in partnership with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and thirty post-secondary schools across Ontario, is happening on September 27 at David Pecaut Square, Toronto, from 12 to 6 p.m. in an effort to welcome international students to Ontario with open arms in a celebration of culture and achievement.

Highlights of the festival include:

–          Arts and culture exhibitions, info-booths, food, prizes, giveaways, and live performances celebrating different global cultures

–          The opportunity for students to meet with post-secondary officials, civic and corporate leaders

–          The Excellence Awards ceremony, honouring international students in 6 different categories for their accomplishments in Ontario

The festival is open to all students (including domestic students).
