Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says foul play suspected in Sunday’s Surrey death

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team on Monday said that the man found dead last Sunday (October 19) just after 8:30 p.m. in a residence in the 11000 block of 136 Street in Surrey is believed to have met with foul play and an autopsy will be required to confirm his cause of death.

Responding to a call for a disturbance, Surrey RCMP, the BC Ambulance Service and the Surrey Fire Department found a dead male in the basement suite of the residence.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the investigation and is currently looking to confirm the individual’s identity and speak with witnesses.

“The identity of the victim has not been confirmed, however, based on the informal identity thus far we can say we believe the victim to be in his mid-fifties and known to police,” said Staff-Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
