Impaired driving leads of death of 20 year old in Calgary

Calgary police have laid charges against the 25-year-old driver involved in an early morning crash on Sunday, January 8 that claimed the lives of two young people.

Arsh Brar, the 20-year-old driver of a Mercedes was killed instantly in the crash while Danni-Victoria Russell, 21, a passenger in the other car, a Toyota Yaris, was also killed.

Witnesses told the police they saw a Toyota Yaris speeding northbound on Shaganappi Trail and ran a red light and then crashed into a Mercedes sedan which was traveling westbound on Country Hills Blvd at around 3.a.m.

Ami Nottebruck, 25, was transported to Foothills Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Nottebruck faces two counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
