Human remains found in Langley those of Edmonton’s David Thanh Lam who had criminal record

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced on Thursday that the human remains found in Langley on Tuesday were those of 34-year-old Edmonton resident David Thanh Lam, who was known to police and had a criminal record dating back to 1998. His next-of-kin have been notified.

“The cause of death will remain holdback evidence and while the motive has not been confirmed, investigators believe it to be linked to criminal activity,” said Staff-Sgt. Jennifer Pound.

On November 25, just before 10:30 a.m., the Langley RCMP responded to the 24700-block of 64th Avenue for what was called in as a possible body in that location.

Upon attendance police located human remains off the side of the road and evidence in the early stages suggested that the individual was a victim of homicide.

The remains being badly burned and an autopsy was held Thursday.
