Head-on crash sends two to hospital

On November 22nd, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Sooke emergency services responded to a 2 vehicle head-on collision near Cooper’s Cove on Sooke Rd.

A white coloured Mitsubishi Delica Van, driven by a 38 year old Sooke resident, was traveling westbound towards Sooke, when it collided with an oncoming blue coloured Buick Century passenger car, driven by a 38 year old Victoria man. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the collision.

The road was closed to traffic for approximately 4 hours as BC Ambulance Service Paramedics and Sooke Firefighters worked to extricate both drivers from the wreckage of their vehicles. Both drivers were transported to Victoria General Hospital with serious injuries, where they remain today. There were no other occupants in the vehicles.

The RCMP crash analyst attended the scene. The cause of this crash is yet to be determined.
