FORMER U.S. president Barack Obama in a tweet on Wednesday endorsed Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.

Obama tweeted: “I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President. He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term.”

Obama himself remains very popular both in the U.S. and Canada, especially with millennials. What effect his endorsement will have on Canadian millennials will be interesting to watch.
