ALBERTA: Fijian-Canadian Peter Singh wins United Conservative nomination in Calgary-East

PETER Singh on Saturday won the United Conservative Party’s nomination in Calgary-East for the 2019 provincial election.

UCP Leader Jason Kenney congratulated Singh, noting: “Peter joins the growing number of new Canadians who are seeking to represent their communities through the United Conservative Party. A Fijian immigrant to Canada, Peter chose Calgary as his home, raised his family here and has operated his own company for more than 25 years.

“Peter remains a strong voice and advocate for his community, having served in the past as the president of the Fiji Canada Association of Calgary. I am pleased to welcome Peter to the United Conservative team.”

Jason thanked Matthew Dirk, Issa Mosa, Jamie Lall, Andre Chabot and Manjit Jaswal and their teams “for their participation in the democratic process and dedication to our movement.”
