Fifth shooting in Surrey within two days, another male known to police injured

ON Wednesday night, at about 11:55 p.m., Surrey R.C.M.P. were advised by the B.C. Ambulance Service that they had been contacted about a male shooting victim laying in the 19300 block of 80th Avenue in Surrey.

Police found a 28-year-old Langley man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was being helped by several local residents. He was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries but was in stable condition.  The male victim is known to police.

Inquiries conducted with area residences showed that none of them heard any shots.  The victim indicated that he was shot in a vehicle in another unknown location, and then dropped on the road in the location where he was found.  It appears that this was a targeted shooting, police said.
