Female pedestrian struck by truck in crosswalk in Surrey at 72nd Avenue and 138th Street

SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday (May 31) in the Newton area of Surrey.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian motor vehicle collision at 72nd Avenue and 138th Street.
A pickup truck was travelling eastbound on 72nd Avenue when it collided with a pedestrian.

The 57-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at scene and is cooperating with police. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still under investigation.
