AT approximately 2:28 p.m. on Friday, Burnaby RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kingsway and Nelson Avenue. It appears that up to eight vehicles were involved in the collision.

Two people involved were taken to hospital while one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is still in its early stages, but it is believed that speed was a contributing factor.

As a result of the incident, Kingsway will be closed between Nelson Avenue and Marlborough Avenue for a significant amount of time.
