Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala, Punjab, Dr Harkesh Singh Sidhu, was in Surrey this week where he interacted with local media and shared his thoughts.
A staunch Akali loyalist Sidhu is Punjab cadre IAS officer of 2009 batch promoted from State civil service (PCS).
Sidhu said he was sad that at present a culture of corruption gas gripped not only the state of Punjab but the whole of India and it is damaging the very fabric of the nation.
Sidhu said he has always believed in being honest even if that means being sidelined by people in power.
A lot of IAS officers from the South have been posted to Punjab but Sidhu said as long as they are honest there should be no problem with that.
